Welcome, I'm Diane, though I'm deeply sorry we're meeting under these circumstances. If you're here, it means you're seeking support, and I'm here to stand beside you on this journey. I understand the depths of grief because I've walked that path myself. From the heartbreaking deaths of my loved ones, to the unexpected twists life throws our way.

Having experienced miscarriages, pet loss, job changes, moving home to another country and more, I've experienced the full spectrum of grief. This journey led me to become a certified Grief and Empowerment Coach, a Hypnotherapist, Grief Recovery Specialist, and Grief Educator. My journey wasn't just about survival; it was about finding joy, purpose, and meaning amid the rubble of loss. And now I'm here to extend that hand to you.

At Give Grief A Chance, my mission is simple: to guide and support you on your journey through grief, helping you to navigate those complex emotions, find healing, and ultimately rediscover your passion and purpose in life. It's about empowering you to acknowledge and process your losses, to rebuild your life with resilience and strength, and find new meaning and direction. I'm not just a coach; I'm a fellow traveller in the journey of life, willing to share my wisdom and experiences. Together, let's start the journey of healing, finding purpose, and embracing life.

We can't escape our loss, but we can choose how we carry it.
Grief is the normal and natural reaction to a loss of any kind, and the feelings you are having are also normal and natural for you. We are a society that only wants to share what’s good in our lives but your feelings are valid. Your life has changed so give yourself permission to feel your feelings and grieve.

Everyone has a story, everyone deserves to be heard, everyone has a choice.

Why Work With a Coach?

The difference between Grief Coaching and Therapy

Let me start by saying that the grief recovery program or any of my services is not therapy, it’s not counseling and it’s not an alternative treatment.  Whilst these services can benefit you and offer you a path to discovery of the thoughts and feelings you have around the loss in your life, it is very different from recovery.

Grief Coaching: Grief coaching focuses on providing practical guidance and support for individuals navigating the complexities of grief. It's forward-looking, action-oriented, and aims to help you move from where you are now to where you want to be. As your grief coach, I'll offer personalized strategies and tools to help you find healing and create a brighter future.

Therapy: Therapy, on the other hand, delves deeper into the psychological and emotional aspects of grief. It often explores past experiences and how they impact your present. Therapy is valuable for addressing underlying mental health concerns and providing a space for in-depth emotional processing. If you're seeking long-term, in-depth emotional healing, therapy might be a better fit for you.

My service with Grief & Empowerment Coaching and Hypnotherapy will also assist you when you are:

  • Ready to discover yourself
  • Feeling burnt out
  • Dealing with loss
  • Feeling lost and stuck
  • Want to find purpose
  • Feel confident

I learned a lot about grief and loss in my 7 week, one to one, Grief Recovery program.
Grief isn’t just about death or divorce- It has made me much more aware of my relationships- past and present.  And most likely will help me in the future! It has helped me to be more aware of how I react/ respond to situations and people in my life.  I think it has helped me become stronger- and definitely more in tune with my self talk- and how I can actually change it, if need be. It was a really good experience even though there were a few moments that were hard for me to talk about.  But I am happy I completed the program- and I will actually continue to use what I’ve learned.

I reached out to Diane when I was going thru a separation from my husband of 18 years. I did her grief recovery program. Diane held my hand thru the process, it was not easy but she made me feel supported throughout the process. Finishing her program I gained a sense of freedom. I highly recommend her program for anyone that is ready to deal with their loss. Thank you Diane!

Di reached out to me last year after I started to suffer from anxiety, something which I hadn’t experienced before. I had to leave a job I loved and as a result found that I was bitter, resentful, miserable and very very low. I felt I couldn’t cope with feeling overwhelmed, My self esteem was rock bottom and I didn’t like who I had become. I will always be so thankful to Di, she enabled me to recognize that I had a choice. I was choosing the way I was reacting to past and present losses but I totally didn’t realize this. I was blaming everyone else. I realized I hadn’t grieved properly throughout my life - my parents splitting up, losing my first child, losing loved ones, my children growing up... I was looking at moving from my job in isolation rather than an accumulation of all-consuming, unresolved grief. The program gave me tools to take back control... I feel empowered and Di gave me strategies for life. Start grieving and start living... Xxxx

I highly recommend Diane's work with Grief. She is compassionate and teaches deep skills that one can take into any area of their life that feel tricky or unsettled. I am grateful that I had the courage and curiosity to reach out.  I grew to understand myself in a new way, and I have processed underlying grief that I didn't even know was holding me back from a more complete life.  I am forever thankful.

I came to Diane to see if I could find myself. For such a long time I had been immersed in so much pain and grief, and I confess the thought of facing it felt very scary to me. But the moment I stepped into Diane’s office I was immediately put at ease. Diane helped me to feel confident and together we moved through the Grief Recovery Program. She assured me there was nothing wrong with me, that grief is the normal and natural reaction to loss of any kind and that I was not to worry about which grief I would tackle first. I felt safe and heard, I trusted the process and I trusted Diane and I was successful in recognizing my incomplete and unresolved grief. I now have a new platform of thought and a potentially different way to live, of which I’m excited to explore. A big hug.

I lost my most beloved pet dog in December of 2021. I was devastated. I felt the same grief that I had experienced when my dad died in 2001! Thankfully I had a conversation with Diane where she mentioned unresolved grief. Unlike psychotherapy, Grief Recovery is a tried-and-true process. Clear and concise, seven weeks of exploration. I began by identifying my first conscious memory. The process guided through the many losses during my lifetime. This might sound overwhelming, yet I discovered that with true forgiveness, the tangled feelings simply unraveled. I am so grateful to Diane for her gentle guidance. I now have the educational tools I need in my toolbox! Forgiveness is truly liberating."
